How I Play My Level 115 Berserker

A walkthrough of my level 115 Berserker setup. This is a heroic character being power-leveled with my 130 group. Covers the disc rotation, the Restless / Magnified frenzy timer trick, the Axe of Derakor reagent setup, and Shared Atavism for boosting Warrior DPS.

A heroic Berserker being leveled up alongside the main warrior group. Around a million DPS when actively positioned, all on a single multibind. Covers the dual frenzy timer trick (long-reuse Restless first, short-reuse Magnified to refill), Axe of Derakor reagent management, and Shared Atavism for buffing the Warrior tank.

Heroic level-up Burst melee Warrior synergy
Sustained~1 million DPS
Axe of Derakor~474k (3 swings)
Vindicating Volley~160k flurry

Session Overview

The setup at 115.

  • Role: Pure burst melee. Disciplines only, no spells.
  • Character: Heroic Berserker being power-leveled with the 130 main group.
  • Gear: Velium Threaded weapons (CoV tier 3), Snowbound non-visuals (ToV tier 1) plus the Paladin's hand-me-downs.
  • Multibind: Everything on the 5 button. Push once, the whole rotation fires.

Frenzy Rotation (Core DPS)

The two frenzy spells on the same timer.

  • Restless Frenzy (Timer 11, 10min reuse): Frenzy strike proc on melee for 3,000 damage. Lasts 36s, refreshes on each strike. Requires below 90% health.
  • Magnified Frenzy (Timer 11, 2min reuse): Adds 6,500 damage to each hit. Same timer but much shorter reuse. Requires below 90% health.
  • The trick: Cast Restless first. Once it falls off, Magnified is always up to fill the timer. Both stay rolling at maximum uptime.

Health threshold: Keeping under 90% is the hardest part with a Shaman group healing. Sometimes the heal ticks bring you back above 90% before you can refresh.

Key Abilities

The rest of the disc bar.

  • Axe of Derakor: Three massive axe swings (875, 1200, 500 base damage, hits for 115k/154k/205k). Consumes Axe of the Vindicator reagents from the summon.
  • Vindicating Volley: Four-axe ranged flurry, ~40k per hit, 12s reuse.
  • Vindicating Axe Throw: Single ranged axe throw for ~83k damage.
  • Vicious Revolution (Timer 16): 4,700 AoE to up to 12 targets. Use over Arc Slash for big pulls.
  • Seething Rage: Melee proc adds two extra attacks for 291 each. 27% chance to refresh.
  • Phantom Assailant: Pet clone that does negligible damage. Mostly there because it's free.
  • Composite Rage: Current progressive. Three two-handed slashes for 5,100 damage plus a group buff (300 stats, hate reduction, +6,700 DS damage). Cast on cooldown.

Shared Atavism

Why Berserker + Warrior is broken.

  • What it does: Buffs your target's target (the tank) with a damage boost. +163 damage with 1H, +324 with 2H for 30 seconds.
  • Self component: +491 damage on your own 2H weapon for the duration.
  • Stack effect: Notice 500k to 1 million DPS uplift on the Warrior when this is rolling.
  • Group impact: Helps the whole 6-box passively hit 10 million DPS without trying.

Use on cooldown: 30 second buff that's almost always up. Berserker + Warrior is one of the strongest melee pairings in the game because of this single ability.

Burn Sequence

Stacking everything for the kill window.

  • Silent Strikes: Aggro reduction. Open with this.
  • Focused Furious Rampage AA: Adds extra primary-hand melee rounds.
  • Desperation AA: +25% overhaste, +10% additional hit chance for 5 minutes.
  • Blinding Fury: +750 attack power, lower weapon delay, more double attack chance. You go blind for the duration so make sure positioning is set.
  • Spire of the Juggernaut: Hit point boost plus damage and crit damage scaling.
  • Mangling Discipline: +221% crit chance, +54 base damage on all attacks.
  • Avenging Flurry Discipline: -18% weapon delay, 100% double attack, 15% flurry chance. Level 89 disc that never gets replaced.
  • Vehement Rage: Base damage boost, lowers incoming heals (acceptable trade).

Burn 3: Battlecry, Frenzied Resolve (+30% accuracy + extra hit), Savage Spirit (+290% melee damage, costs 25% HP), Intensity of the Resolute (+50% damage, doesn't stack with glyph), and Brutal Discipline (massive damage potential).

Juggernaut Surge & AAs

The Gollum form and other key AAs.

  • Juggernaut Surge: Turns you into a Gollum. Visual flair plus a weapon damage boost. Looks cool, can be blocked if you don't want it.
  • Draw Blood: Gravitates you toward your target. Useful when blinded during burns.
  • Battle Leap: Position jump for 75k damage on landing. Same as the Warrior version. Critical for box positioning.
  • Binding Axe Strike: Damage plus an attack power debuff and snare.
  • Intimidation: Decimator's Intimidation buff. Increases incoming damage from frenzy attacks. Pair with Auto Skill Frenzy for free damage.
  • Blood Pact AA: Proc that consumes 1% HP for 6,000 damage. Upgrades to 7,000 next rank.

Gear & Tribute

Best in slot at 115.

  • Best group armor: Terror of Luclin tier 1 or CoV tier 3. Very close in stats.
  • Two-hander: Velium Threaded with the lifetap aug (71% of 7,000 lifetap). 19 ratio.
  • Belt: Overpunch belt (slow proc belt).
  • Power source: Attacker source, not tank source.
  • Stat focus: Stack Heroic Dexterity for melee classes. Aerodexterity and Vigor on non-visuals.
  • Tribute: Bulwark of Honor, Eyes of the Hunter, Fury of Combat, Hero's Deafness, Vengeful Aura.

AA priority when leveling: Pick anything that boosts damage on the abilities you actually use. Defense is wasted when you're being power-leveled in a high-tier group.

Quick Rotation Cheat Sheet

  1. Pre-pull: Composite Rage on cooldown, Auto Skill Frenzy on, tribute up.
  2. Engage: Restless Frenzy, then Magnified Frenzy on the next refresh.
  3. Spam (multibind 5): Composite Rage, Vindicating Volley, Vindicating Axe Throw, Seething Rage, Axe of Derakor, Shared Atavism.
  4. Burn: Silent Strikes, Focused Furious Rampage, Desperation, Blinding Fury, Spire of the Juggernaut, Mangling Discipline, Avenging Flurry Discipline.
  5. Big AoE pull: Vicious Revolution (12 targets, 4,700 each).
  6. Position: Battle Leap or Draw Blood.

Hello and welcome to how I play my 115 Berserker. So, this is not a heroic character. So, uh we’re going to do that another time, but uh this is a heroic that I’ve been leveling up on the side with my warrior. Uh we’re going to talk about the disciplines and stuff. I am still learning this class, so this is a disclaimer uh right off the bat. Some of this might not be 100% the best. I mean, I’m not going to lie, but uh I’m happy with what he’s doing. Uh I think, you know, when I’m when I’m actively moving him around, I can get about a million DPS with him right now. Like, uh here, let me uh let me show this before we get into this, right? Cuz ah this might make a little bit more sense. All right, so this is me farming uh several names in Laurian Song, right? So he’s he’s lower level. Uh plus everything I did on stream this morning, right? Uh so Holdridge right here looks like he’s doing a 240 overall. Now that is that is because I’m not positioning him every time, right? So you can kind of see like over 17 billion damage. My warrior is at 2 million, but he is at uh 247. Now, uh, if we go down to like some of these fights where I I know I put him a little bit more effort into it. So, like he’s 729 and that named uh this named he only did that. So, I didn’t position him. So, I’m I’m still working. Uh, he was not in the best of gear uh during this. He was in uh some pretty terrible gear. I’ve upgraded his weapon to uh Velium Threaded, which is the uh tier three COVR uh weapon, right? He’s still in snowbound, which is the TOV tier one. Uh but he’s wearing all my paladins, uh non-visual stuff, so he’s got a mix, but uh he’s his his damage is going up and up, right? So, uh with that said, let’s get into the rotation. So I I play all my characters with a single button uh called the multi-bind. And uh it’s pretty much a rotation. So all my charact all my keys are bound to five, right? So every time I hit five, all of these keys, uh get activated. Now, as a berserker, you only have disciplines. You don’t have anything else beside like spells. Now, you do have AAS, and we’ll talk about some of those. I got those down here. But uh let’s get into this. So, uh, let’s sort these by the levels so we can kind of see them at the top here and it’ll make a little sense. Now, uh, at 115, we have two frenzied spells. Now, if you look at them, they both are on the same timer, timer 11. Uh, one has a 10-minute reuse and one has a twominute reuse. So, what does that tell you? That tells you that uh if you do it right and put restless first uh you can always have that one up and then the other one will always be up, right? So uh it just works that way. But uh restless is the first one here. Allows your uh melee attacks to trigger frenzy strike which do an additional 3,000 damage. Uh lasts for 36 seconds, but each strike will refresh the ability. the ability requires to do it at or low 90% health. Now, that is that is the biggest problem I’ve run into so far uh is keeping my health low, especially with a shaman doing uh AoE group heals and stuff like that. It is pretty hard to do. I’ve been very very very skeptical of putting blood fury in my multivine because uh you know it might not I might not get a heal then that’s you know that’s getting hit for 50,000 you know uh and then it does a little bit bit more right so there’s there’s some you know it’s it is what it is right it is very interesting now I’m Sometimes I don’t even get down with all the stuff going from my shaman. I don’t even get down to 90%. Like I hit it right now. I’m at 85, right? Sometimes like the ticks on the heels, I’m already back at 8 95 by the time I, you know, hit it. So there’s some like I haven’t decided. Uh like if we hit it again, right? No. What does this do? Consumes 50% health uh which reserves 100% of incoming damage. So what happens if I just spam this? I like I haven’t even thought about this. Huh. No, it just keeps taking my health. So, you can see that that’s how you get your health down. So, to use this ability, you have to be under 90% health. Uh, which in theory might be more difficult than you think, right? So, you have that frenzy and then you have magnified uh frenzy, which every time you do it, it adding uh an extra 6,500 damage to each hit. Uh, you also have to be under, right? So, this is a 2-minute reuse with a 2-minute duration. So, uh if you hit that one first, right, it’s it’s always going to be used, right? But if you hit the other one first, that one will get used. And then when it’s down, you’ll hit this one every time. All right, that’s the way it’s working for me so far. You might have different uh thing. Next up, I have Vindicating Volley, which is a a like an AoE uh attack, I guess. I don’t know. Single target, four axes. I don’t know. Let’s see here. Indicating flurry. Boom. Boom. Boom. Throwing some axes at it. If we look at uh smashing right here, you can see lucky critical. 41,000 39,000 40,000 38,000. Right. Uh definitely a uh you know, a nice little attack. And that is you know, look at that. That’s like a 12 minute 12 second reuse. So that’s pretty nice extra damage there. Then I have vicious cycle which is not has not been updated but it does a AoE attack uh for 4700 to 12 targets. It’s a timer 16 which is the same as arc slash. Ark slash here is uh four targets for 350. Right? So if I arc slash, you know it it’ll hit four targets. So if I go over here to these combat dummies, right? That’s it. It’s not back up yet. Uh, so you get a choice between the two. This one seems to refresh a little bit faster. I don’t know. It’s hard to say. Uh, but you know, I like I like that one. So, kind of kind of the direction I like to go with that one. So, I go with the cycle. More targets. Theoretically, uh, he won’t die, but uh, if you watch the streams, he does die. And then we have a sheeting ray. uh sheathing rage, which uh it gives me a chance to get two additional attacks uh for 291 and then 27% chance it will refresh the rage, right? So, it’s just a nice little attack there. Then we have Phantom Asalent, which is just a little clone of me that runs around doing damage. I don’t know how much damage it does. I’ve never really looked at here. Let’s uh let’s see if we can see just like so we have the reference here. So, we go down to this fight here. This is the one I did 700,000. So we zoom out my pet which is the salmon. He’s doing like nothing. So unless the parser is jacked, he’s doing nothing. So it’s not even worth not even probably worth the energy. But uh it is what it is. Then we have axe of deracore which is a uh three huge ax swings a uh doing 875, 1,200,500 damage. Requires an axe of the vindicator. So, the axe of vindicator is our current summoned axe, right? Uh, it’s not what I wanted. This one right here. So, it’s going to summon an axe. Where do these go? Right here. So, axe of the vindicator. You can put them in your ammo slot. You can put them wherever. Doesn’t really matter. Do whatever you want with them. But, uh, if we go here and we hit axore, right? Boom. Uh, what is that? 147,000 31,000. I guess we missed on one of those. I guess he missed. Am I do I not have my misses over here? That’s That’s a little embarrassing. My misses go there, but it’s it only shows two. All right, let’s uh let’s clear this and try it again. All right. So, the Derkore. Boom. Boom. Boom. There we go. All right. There’s three. So, 115,000, 154,000, and 205,000. So, that’s a nice big damaging attack we can throw in there. Uh, then we have shared atism. I can’t remember what it was called last time. What? Shared ruthlessness last time. So, this one incites your target’s target and yourself with a shared blood lust, increasing the amount of the amount of damage you both do with melee weapons. your targets. Target will deal 13 uh 163 more damage with one-handed weapons and 324 more with two-handed weapons for 30 seconds, while I will do 491 with two-handed weapons. Now, that is probably one of the best reasons why a berserker and a warrior go really well together. Now, if I’m hitting this target dummy, I’m going to buff my warrior’s damage right just showing up. I’m giving I’m giving my warrior a damage buff every 30 seconds, right? And this is pretty insane. Like, I noticed a almost 500,000 to a million DPS increase on my warrior when everything is flowing, all the buffs are going. It is crazy. I can get uh like my group passively gets to 10 million DPS without even trying and I attribute that to you know the part of this ability giving my warrior more damage. So it’s very nice. Then we have a vindicating ax throw which is just an axe throw that does a lot of damage. 800 uh oh no 83,000 there. And then we have composite rage which is our current level progressive ability. We will get another one here at uh 116 I think. I think it’s 116 if not uh 121. Uh but we’ll have this one. And it uh just gives us consumes an axe and the vindicator, right? So we those axes we’re summoning. Got to have those. Uh lowers hatred, but it does a good deal of damage and buffs everybody in the group. Now, if we click on the button here, deals three massive two-handed uh slashing attacks for 5100 damage and then splashes blood splash on everybody else. Increases stats by 300. Lowers the amount of damage damage from damage shields you take by 6700. Increases your chance uh to become crippling blows, blah blah blah. Just increases everything, right? This it’s just a massive buff. I do it on cooldown. It’s a one minute reuse. So on cool down. Then we have Juggernaut’s surge which turns us into a Gollum which is actually kind of cool. Like I I’m not going to lie. This is this is pretty one of the neat abilities here. So if I do battle leap into surge right it’s pretty neat, huh? And then just swack away on him like you know like that. So, it turns you into that. Gives you a little bit more damage on your weapon. I mean, it’s a nice visual. You can block it, I believe, but uh I think it looks cool, so I I keep it on. Uh then we have draw blood, which is actually pretty interesting. Gravitates you towards your target, right? Uh you know, I do box this character, so being able to uh I don’t think I can activate it on this one. Uh oh, no, you have to be under the effect of those other things, right? So, it doesn’t really matter. Um, this one it’s kind of nice, right? Like I’m when I’m burning and stuff like that, it draws me to the target because you are blind, right? Like if you’re blind, when you’re burning, you’re you’re not going to be able to see. Uh, now I can kind of position him, you know, since I’m playing, you know, all the characters, right? I can kind of do some some magic there, but it is what it is. Uh, and then we have Battle Leap, which you saw there. Just a giant 75,000 hit right there. So, it’s pretty nice. and it gets you in position, right? This is the same one that uh warriors get. And I find this really good for getting him in position since he’s box character, right? He just automatically gets him in melee range. Uh then all I have to do is rotate him around and stuff like that. Then we have uh binding axe strike, which will uh do some more damage. Uh and I think it steals a snare. It’s like a de attack power debuff and a snare. So it’s kind of nice there. And then intimidation which uh gets modified by intimidation which I don’t see. Uh where is that one at? There is some guy. There it is. Right here. So this one gives us decimators and simidation which increases the damage they take from frenzy. Right. So if we do auto skill uh what window is that in right here. Yeah. So, auto skill frenzy on. Make sure it’s still on. Auto skill. Yeah, it’s already on. So, you want to auto skill frenzy at all times. So, that gives you a little bit more damage out of that. Uh, and then it’s about that. So, we do have some burns. So, I do have a few of these set up. It’s not perfect yet, but uh let’s see here. Silent Strikes uh lowers our aggro, right? Basic first thing to do. Uh focused Furious Rampage, which causes our primary rounds to hit your target with an additional melee round. Now, uh there is a a furious rampage that is an AoE attack. Uh so I have that one and Braxy’s Howl. These are two AoE attacks kind of like the monk ones. Uh I have those separate for manual activation there instead of having pushing my howl button. Then we have desperation which increases our overhaste by 25% and our a chance to land additional hits for 10% for 5 minutes. So it’s a nice big boost right there. And then we have blinding fury. This turns us blind. Uh increases our attack power by 750. Increases our uh weapon or decreases our weapon delay. increases our double chance attack, double hit attack chance, uh, and everything else. Nice, nice little buff. Uh, definitely you want to make sure you’re already ready when you activate this cuz you will not be able to see uh, for a little while. And then, Spire of the Juggernaut. This is uh, just, you know, the spires that everybody gets, right? Uh, increases our, you know, hit points a little bit. gives us all kinds of uh increased damage, uh critical damage, throwing attack, a lot of throwing attack stuff in this one. So, it’s very nice there. Uh then we have in my burn two, see here. Burn two, mangling discipline, which I don’t think I upgraded to the correct one. Let me see here. Timer 21. All right, I’m not completely dumb. There was no upgrade. Uh no upgrade to this one, but this increases our uh critical hit uh chance by 221% and adds 54 damage bonus to all my attacks, right? Huge. And then we have avenging fury discipline. This is from level 89. Uh does not ever get upgraded again, I guess. And this just uh reduces our weapon delay by 18% and grants a 100% chance to double attack and a 15% chance to perform or more flurry, which is like a triple attack. All right. And then we get uh a blood pack here, which is an AA, which will uh grant our chance to trigger blood pack, which consume 1% of my health to deal 6,000 damage, right? And that’ll get upgraded to 7,000 next rank. And then uh we have our breastplate, which I don’t believe the breastplate is actually a damage ability. Absorbs 40% of incoming melee damage. I mean, not not too useful for me. Uh then we have a hammet rage, which is our uh increases our base melee damage, but lowers our incoming heals, right? So uh more damage, more damage, more damage. That is what the whole point of this class is. So it’s damage. Then I do have a burn three which uh apparently I did set up. I was double checking this earlier. Uh I start out with battlecry which increases attack speed and uh attack rating. Then we go into frenzy resolve which increases the accuracy by 30%. And 100% chance to add an extra hit. So more hits, more damage. Uh then we have Savage Spirit which uh grants 290% uh extra damage to all the melee attacks and then consumes 25% of my health. I have intensity the resolute here which is a uh what is this like a 50% damage increase for 1 minute. Doesn’t stack with glyph so it’s kind of nice for that. And then we have brutal discipline which uh causes your body to be consumed by zer berserking rage greatly increasing the damage potential of my attacks. So just more damage right everything gives damage. Everything is damage. Uh and that is it. Like like that is what kind of where I’m at with this class. Uh heroic dexterity I think is is the is the play for this one. Um I’m not 100% sure you know if there would be another way to go. uh maybe heroic strength, but I feel like dexterity is probably the way to go. Um for all the melee classes, uh you’re going to want to, you know, at 115, the best gear you’re going to get is either the Terror of Luckland tier one or the COV tier three. I think there’s like it’s very close between those two. Uh you’re going to want the two-handed axe, I think. Anyway, I like the life tap on here. you know, 71% of a 7,000 life tap. I mean, why not? Uh, it’s a 19 ratio, which is not too bad. I’m missing the AUG that would increase this damage slightly. Uh, but I’m not too concerned about that because at 120, I’ll have a whole new setting here, so it doesn’t really matter. Um, and then non-visual, you want the best you can get, right? I stack everything for aerodightness and I believe vigor, right? Uh, I did the security charm because that’s what I already had, but I don’t think it matters too much when it comes to these because, uh, the stats are down. Now, you’re going to want the correct belt. I don’t have the correct belt on. You’re going to want a crippling slice. Not crippling slice. You’re going to want over punch belt. Uh, you’re going to want that. This is just what I had in my bag for my Paladin, which is again the wrong belt. It should be this the slow belt for the paladin, but uh I don’t think I I don’t think I had enough ore when I was doing it. Um but yeah, so you’re going to want all that and get all that. You should be fine. Uh I think that’ll that should get you in the right spot. You’re going to want a real power source, not an tank power source. You’re going to want an attacker one. I don’t have an extra one of those, but that and then you’re going to want to do tribute. Uh you can see here I have Bull Work of Honor, Eyes of the Hunter, Fury of Combat, uh Heroes Deafness for the extra um extra stats there. Oh, I can upgrade some of these. Nice. It’s been a while, I guess. Upgrade. Upgrade. All right, perfect. There we go. Uh and you’re going to want benchful aura for the extra attack there. So, definitely uh how you want to play your tribute. Um, I mean, you could probably do it if you don’t want to dexterity, you probably go like stamina or strength, whatever you want. Uh, just increase those. Uh, but that is it. There’s not much else. Uh, if you’re leveling this character up without auto grant, you’re going to want to pick anything that does damage first. Any any of the abilities you use, you want to make sure you get those focuses first, right? Like you don’t it doesn’t really matter otherwise. Um, like if this guy gets hit right now, he’s dead. I I so like anything defensive is useless for me because he’s just so much lower level cuz I am power leveling him with a 130 group. So there is that. But that is that is what I do for my Berserker. Everything’s on the five button. Um watch the streams for Hamrock Live and you’ll see him in action and uh you know doing his thing. And I mean look at him. He’s just he’s just a cool cool looking guy with all his uh all his setup. But that is my 115 Berserker. If you have any questions or comments, you know more about a Berserker than me, please let me know what I’m doing wrong and I will uh modify what I’m doing because I I’m winging it, right? I don’t uh I don’t look really at much any other guides or anything like that. So, I just wing it and figure it out on my own. And I feel like this is uh pretty good. My goal is, you know, you know, 3 million DPS. I think that’s what I’m getting with my monk. So, I think I should be able to hit the same amount with this guy. But that’s that. Thank you very much for watching and please have a fantastic day.
