EverQuest Legends patch notes for August 25, 2026: the State of Unrest revamp and what it dropped, raid boss health cut in multiplayer, bulk turn-ins that no longer tank your frame rate, and a faction change that makes the halfling unlock far easier.
Servers went down this morning and were back before the three hours were up. The headline is the State of Unrest revamp, which puts real items on the rare creatures and guarantees they spawn, but the change with the widest reach is quieter: killing Pickclaw goblins now raises Priest of Mischief faction, which turns the halfling unlock from a grind into an afternoon.
The State of Unrest Revamp
New loot, and rares that actually show up.
- New items on most rare creatures in the zone, and improvements to some of what was already there.
- Thick Leather ApronEverQuest Legends

- Rare monsters are guaranteed spawns with no placeholders, so a trip is no longer a lottery.
- Several monsters that always looked named are now flagged as rare, and get the increased mode drops that go with it.
If those drops behave like Mistmoore's, this creates a natural pipeline: Unrest around level 10, then Castle Mistmoore in the twenties or thirties. That is worth a trip on its own and the next Adventures in Norrath is likely to be exactly that.
Soulseeker's Eye
The same treatment, partly.
- Rare creatures are guaranteed spawns with no placeholders here too.
- More monsters flagged as rare, same as Unrest.
- It has not had the full revamp yet, but this looks like the start of one.
Gameplay
Two changes, one large.
- Raid bosses in the multiplayer raid zones lost hit points. Some of these were sitting north of half a million, which the numbers coming into my database from Discord had made very clear.
- Pets no longer have their own faction or their own aggro range, which removes a whole category of accidental pulls.
Faction and Turn-Ins
The change that matters most.
- Killing Pickclaw goblins now raises Priest of Mischief faction. Previously that meant forged fruit and ruined wolf belts, hundreds of turn-ins deep. Now you can go kill runny eyes instead, and the halfling unlock gets far easier.
- Bulk turn-ins are pre-calculated for experience, faction, coin, items and stats, with the result shown in chat rather than line by line.
- Which fixes the frame rate problem. Handing over eight hundred of something used to mean going away for a minute while the client caught up.
- Coin quests accept bulk items in turn-ins now as well.
Why I have been sitting on some unlock videos. Several of these quests are obviously due a rework, and recording the before version means the comments fill up with people telling me it changed. I still get that on the Priest of Life video after the bone chip change.

Hello and welcome to uh some EverQuest Legends patch notes for August 25th, 2026. Uh so, let’s get into it. Uh we got uh we got some data today. All right. All right, servers went down this morning and they’re already back up. Downtime did not feel like 3 hours, but uh if it was, it was the sh- shortest 3 hours of my life. All right, the State of Unrest revamp. So, they added new items to most of the rare creatures within the zone, improved some existing items within the zone. Notably, uh I believe from Discord, let me see if I can bring that in here real quick. Here’s some items that uh Kiska showed. Ah, come on. Can I not There we go. Can I not drag the window? All right, thick leather apron now has haste 19% at plus four, so that’s pretty nice. And then uh the Gladius got an upgrade here. Now has laceration on it. And then the Pugius, it also has a rising dexterity proc, which you can then put on other weapons if you want, but that’s pretty cool. That’s what we’ve seen so far on the uh on the Discord, but uh I’m going to be hitting this up very, very soon. Probably the next uh Adventures in Norrath will be uh will be a State of Unrest. Undead monsters commonly seen on the first floor, estate interior, now drop fine steel, which is a nice little platinum upgrade if you ever go there early on. Uh rare monsters now are guaranteed to spawn with no placeholders. Perfect. Several monsters recognizable as named are now flagged as rare and will benefit from increased mode drops. Hopefully, this is the same kind of increased mode drops that we see in Mist Moor because that will then create a pipeline of you know, level 10 unrest, level 30 uh Mist Moor, maybe 25 Mist Moor, depends on uh when you want to go. But, uh that is a nice little uh surprise there. And then, Soulseeker’s Eye, rare creatures are now guaranteed spawns with no placeholders, and several additional monsters are flagged as rare creatures. So, uh that is pretty good. Doesn’t look like it’s gotten its full revamp yet, but I suspect it will. [music] Gameplay, decrease the amount of hit points that the raid uh bosses in multiplayer have within within within the raid boygling zones. Now, uh some of these hit points are like in the like half a million. Uh I mean, half uh like you know, 500 plus K, right? Like, these are these are crazy cuz I I’ve got I’ve got people from my Discord spitting data to my database, and uh and you know, they’re doing group stuff, and it’s crazy to see some of these numbers. Uh but, it’s pretty cool there. Uh pets will no longer have their own faction, will no longer have their own aggro range. So, that’s fine. That’s fine. Fine, fine, fine. Zones and populations, killing Pickclaw goblins will now raise your faction with the uh Priest of Mischief, which means uh halfling unlock is a lot easier. Previously, to get the Priest of Mis- [music] Mischief faction, you had to forge a fruit, and then you had to uh get a ruined uh wolf belt, I believe it was, turn in like 800 of that nonsense to get enough faction. Uh but, now you can go uh slaughter runny eyes. So, expect a halfling unlock video there soon. I’ve I’ve been holding off on some unlock videos that like I they’re just obvious that they’re going to get reworked, right? And like making it the before and then someone go and goes goes and does that and then it’s like, “Oh man.” You know, cuz I’m I I get comments on my uh uh what is it? Priest of Life video because they nerfed the uh bone chip thing, right? So, you got to you got to wait. You got to wait. That’s why I’m I’m holding off on some of those quests. Experience, faction coins, items, and stats are now bulk calculated. Bulk quest items and coin turn-ins now are pre-calculated and the results are clear at least shown in the chat. This is a max four chat blocks. Uh bulk quest turn-ins prevent FPS FPS drops. You know, so like when we do the, you know, 800 wine or whatever it was to uh Lady Sh- uh Shay and [music] like, you know, like you can go like go AFK for a minute cuz it’s like what it’s going to take a little bit of time to process. Now that should be resolved. Coin quest quests now accept bulk items in the turn-ins. So, uh I believe there is a Priest of Life faction and then there is another, I think it’s Blood Sabers. You give a guy gold, right? So, now you just give them I think four 400 platinum or whatever it is and you will uh max out your faction and you’ll get a refund if you go over the uh over the limit there. All right. Quest NPCs will now accept coin in any denomination. So, you can give me your platinum, your copper, your uh gold, whatever you want to give them. All right. Receiving multiple item rewards will now display [music] how many items you received. So, like the some of these are quest turn-ins give you a spell. So, it’ll be like, “You got 400 copies of flame.” All right. Items, increased the run speed of the Bristly Boar mount by one speed tier. Now, from what I understand the speed of this mount, this is the the shop mount that is currently available, was Spirit of Wolf minus one velocity. Uh now, uh I’m assuming it’s going to be Spirit of Wolf plus velocity. Like uh I think bards cap out at like 75 or 83, depending on uh what instruments you have. So, it’s going to be in between uh Spirit of Wolf and bard. >> [laughter] >> We’ll find out. I haven’t bought it yet, so we’ll uh we’ll have to try that out. Players who have acquired the Torrid Corrupter can now retroactively gain themselves the quest title by right-clicking the item while equipped. Title may be acquired requi- Title may require zoning before it prop- propagates. Now, this is a really cool uh shadow knight weapon. So, we’re about to make a shadow knight. Ah, it’s going to be like I think we’re doing enchanter in the last uh legendary adventures. Uh that thing is like level 49 now. I leveled cleric with it, and uh we’re going to do some kills with that, and then we’re going to be leveling >> [music] >> uh shadow knight, wizard, enchanter as the uh as the next [music] you know thing we’re going to go through there. But, we’re going to spend a little bit more time on that one. Uh we’re going to do the Torrid Corrupter. We’re going to do Soulfire. We’re going to do all that stuff then. Uh it’ll be fun thing to do. [music] Increase the AC value of the drops from Warlord Sharlon. So, that’s mithril legs, I think. Mithril legs and arms, I think. I think Oh, let me let me double-check here. So, creatures. Shar What’s his name? Uh what is his name? Shak. All right, Shak Harn. There we go, Warlord Shak Harn. Da da da. He drops mithril greaves. >> [music] >> and Mithril Vambraces. It’s perfect. So, those are going to get an AC upgrade. So, that means my tooltip here is incorrect. Uh but, we can uh we can then take that data and diff it. All right. Uh added endurance to the Varishi Maul, great axe, and corrected the Tent of Dark Maul um Dark Mail. I’m sorry. Items from Nagena. Added fixed an So, fixed an issue where Full Potential, that’s the level 50 AA that gives you more slots, would not be granted in some cases. Affected players can swap loadouts once receive this AA if they’re missing it >> [music] >> in their AA to their highest loadout of 50, right? Added a new Beastlord ability, Strike as One. [music] This passive AA can be trained at 35 uh or above for the cost of six AA points. Once fully trained, the Beastlord will have a chance to hit a proc on Strike >> [music] >> as One buff, granting the warder a 30% additional >> [music] >> uh flurry chance for 12 seconds. Now, this This is This is pretty interesting, [music] right? This is going to increase pet damage. And if you take the Beastlord, I see a monk and a Beastlord, you could probably push some pretty interesting damage. I’m not going to lie. Um that could definitely be uh you know, some kind of build there. I mean, I don’t know the full build of with that, but I’m sure there’s something with it. But, uh cuz monks have more haste, and so they’re going to be hitting more and they got more hit chance and all that stuff. And with that, then the warder’s pet going to is going to be doing more damage. It’s like a combo. You got to You got to think of these as multiple classes, not just as one. Spells. Pets can now gain benefits from pet rock spell upgrades, damage, and resist. Fixed an issue where summoning a familiar was interfering with [music] pets properly re-leveling to their upgraded state after zoning. Fixed F1 target myself >> [music] >> targeting to always select the the pet if both the pet and the familiar are present. Added preview to the updated spell effects when the modes are added to the merge slot. Oh, that is nice. You can see what changes. That is fantastic. Fixed the bugs that could caused erratic spell cooldowns from instant cast spells. UI fixed a bug where the instance menu could be unresponsive when editing key binds. Right clicking on the spell gem in the actions window will now operate the same as right clicking or in the list. Added the Added an upgrade hint to the description section. Added the next charge time to the instant menu instance menu. Oh, that’s a nice one. I hated having to open up that all the whole second extra window. Prevented tooltips from going off screen while using Windows scaling. Fixed map centering when using scaling options. Fixed UI scaling in the modern UI where keep on screen settings were not being applied on full UI reload. Fixed UI reloading when not using keep my settings. Fixed quantity drawing in the trade skill window. Increased the amount of draw range of the name plate scaling and options. Removed name plate font from UI scaling to main maintain readability. Resolved an issue where fonts that were contributing to issues where line breaks occurred too soon. Added modern input fields on the social hot keys. Added window cut, copy, paste, cursor movement without shift. Oh my gosh, these guys are just These guys are making this client modern and I appreciate it. I went back to normal EverQuest to like play for a few few hours uh to do some, you know, the prep for a video and oh my god, I was like, “Oh my god, where’s all the quality of life that made the client better?” I mean, it is like the EverQuest team needs to start back porting all of this stuff immediately to uh the main client. Uh see, added two new nameplate options for aggro indicator aggro mode. One, uh nameplates will now have an outline and pulse their shadow if the NPC has you targeted. This applies in red pulsing lasso on the extended [music] target. Okay. Mode two, no aggro mode applies the same styles but only when the NPC is targeting member of your group or your group member pet. All right, there we go. So, that’s the patch notes. Now, what I what I’ve done So, this is my local uh local server. I haven’t pushed this to live yet. But, what I do is I diff all the the all the data, right? I diff it all and uh it comes up with this and we get uh you know, some new spells while we’re at it, right? These are These are what was added in this patch, right? So, new spell murder bee, [music] right? Pet illusion. So, I’m assuming this is going to be a shop item personally uh cuz, you know, the murder bee was such a fantastic thing, but uh you can see here there’s going to be a pet illusion there and then summon familiar murder bee. So, there’s going to be some kind of familiar uh murder bee also kind of thing. So, that’s pretty interesting uh there. So, that’ll that’ll be interesting to see. And then we talked about strike as one which is the beast lord uh ability which, you know, obviously here pet flurry 30% chance, right? Pretty pretty basic there added to the game today. [music] Right? And then state of unrest. Now, I have no idea what this is. Uh but just looking at this, it’ll take 45 of your hit points and turn those into endurance and mana. Uh No. Uh I I don’t know if this is something from an item in uh in [music] uh what you call it? In Unrest. I but this is pretty interesting. I don’t know if this is like a clicky like a mana stone kind of thing or it’s just a curse or something that’s on an item that, you know, oh, I’m going to lose some hit points to [music] get some more mana and endurance. Now, it says instant endurance, which makes me think it’s more of like a heal. Right? It’s going to take 45 hit points. It’s going to give me 15 mana and 15 endurance. So, that’s interesting to see. Uh >> [music] >> you know, definitely the rest of the week will tell and we’ll see what, you know, comes out of that. Maybe a quest. Might be [music] something. So, uh this will this data will be pushed live here uh pretty soon. Uh more testing needs to be done. But uh definitely that So, that’s the patch notes for August 25th, 2026. I hope you have a fantastic day and stay safe out there.
