Fiery Avenger

Hello and welcome to EverQuest Legends beta. Today we are going to finally finish my Fiery Avenger. Uh and uh we’re going to do the quest backwards because uh to start the quest to go to Sky, right? And then he tells you to go go get these things, right? We’re going to do it. We we’ve already started collecting these things a long time ago. Uh so we have the ghoul bane, we have the soulfire, I took out my AUG. Uh, I took out uh well, I got the frost book from uh Vox and the burnt book from Nagafan. All right, so the way this co quest goes is we turn in the two books to this lady right behind me. She’s going to give us a third book. We go to Ocean of Tears. We give that book to another guy, the Oracle, and he’s going to give us a flacctory. Uh, then we take that. We go to Everrost. We charm a dude and uh then we give him the full Acrity and then he gives us a robe and a head after we cut his head off. And then we go to Sky and uh there we go. So I am currently in Neryak Commons and I am if I can hit the map right I am uh right about here. So it’s the under the bar um in the the bank area. So, it’s not too bad. So, let’s see if this lady will say anything to us. Uh, we are an ally. Uh, I am not a dark elf. I’m in uh I’m using my guys of the deceiver to become a a dark elf, but I did unlock the the dark elf race, so I’m ally with most of those. Let’s see here. Hello. Let me know if I can get you a drink. All right. It doesn’t look like she has any kind of text to let you know. um doesn’t give you any kind of text to let you know what you can do. All right. So, let’s uh let’s just go ahead and hand it to her because we already know. So, it’s um book one, book two, and and 1,000 platinum. So, 1,00. Pan that over. And there we go. We get the book of scales. All right. Pretty easy. Now we can take this and go to Ocean of Tears. Now the easiest way for me to get to Ocean of Tears, which might be the same for you if you’re playing on Legends also, um, is we can port to Commons. So, let’s see here. Commons. West Commons. Yeah, I think West Commons is going to be closer. Oh, no, no, no. It’s going to be North Row. North Row. All right. So, we’re going to do that and uh we’ll be then inside of uh the next area. All right. So, we’re running from the Wizard Spires right here all the way up to East Freeport. Now, I chose this one because it’s actually going to put us closer to the docks. We need to uh go into Ocean Tears and uh conveniently there is a translocator right by the dock. So, this is going to be kind of what we do there. And then we’re going to switch our spells up slightly so we can levitate instead of swim through the stupid ocean. Uh, now I I’m probably KO here cuz I did kill Luc. So, uh, it’s a bat. Why can’t I target this guy? There we go. Yeah, he’s ready to attack. I don’t really want to feel like fighting these guys right now. So, we’re going to pop on invisibility. And as soon as that hits, there we go. just run through here. Now, we need to get to the docks, which is uh right around the corner here, right? So, I don’t have this I don’t have this zone memorized, so it’s definitely uh challenging, but the transllocator guy is right there. So, it’s pretty easy to get to. And uh I highly recommend the Transllocators even though they cost like 50 platinum or whatever, but it’s definitely worth it to save your time. Hail him. Uh then we’re going to travel to Ocean of Tears. He’ll also take you to Kenos. So if you need to get to Kenos, you can straight up get there right away from Freeport. It is fantastic. You no longer have to go through the most pointless zones in the game. All right. So, we’re going to grab um grab levitate. Hopefully, we have levitate. All right. So, now we need to go find the oracle uh guardian and oracle. Oh, he’s literally right in front of us. I could see him from the docks. I could He’s indifferent. All right. I I truly didn’t know that. I I truly didn’t. Oh, wait, wait, wait. He’s indifferent because I’m in viz. All right. He’s indifferent even though I’m a dark elf. What about his little friend here? Let’s get rid of that song. Is he indifferent, too? All right. They’re all indifferent. [laughter] Okay. Now, we’re at the Oracle, and we just need to give the Oracle the book of scale. So, let’s see if he says anything real quick. Greetings, Nomard. I am the oracle k ammon. Do do you uh quest for knowledge yourself or do you um offer that which I seek? I seek for knowledge. All right. Doesn’t respond. Uh seek. There we go. I seek knowledge which is superior to all things and no no knowledge is greater than which is contained within the tome of ages. The tome of ages to ages has been compiled over millennia scribes of dah. It was divided into seven distinct books by the scribes. Uh okay. Well, you’re looking for the tome of the ages. I got this the book of scale. Maybe that’ll uh wet your whistle for a little bit. Let’s see. All right. Let’s see if he’ll handle that. Let me see if we can say something else to him because like I I say book of scale. I feel like there we go. Ah, the book of scale. It would be wondrous indeed if you could recover the book of scale for me. If you do manage to procure the book of scale, I’ll gladly part of my artifact of my own. It may be of interest to you. All right, there you go. There’s the text for that one. And then we hand that in. And we get 1% experience. Not bad. Uh, we got a little bit of faction with him. Nice. And, uh, we did get the orag’s felacrity, right? All right. So now from here we need to go to Everrost so that we can get uh our lich. So how are we going to do that? Well, conveniently we have rituals. Rituals are the answer answer for everything in this game. And we want to go to West Kana right here. Evacuate West Kana. So we’re going to zone over there. And uh then uh I’m going to show you a trick to get across the zone. All right. So once you zone into this zone, right, like even if you come in from over here, if you do a slashpick, right, and then you just like select one randomly and then it will take you to the suker point uh in the zone, which is on the literal other side of the zone. So it is uh convenient to get to the side of the zone, you know, part of this world much faster, right? Uh, now we’re going to run to Everrost. And more more importantly, we’re running to the uh the caves in Everrost under the uh ice. So, that’s where we got to go. And um if he’s up, right, we’re looking for Lich Miral. Now, if he’s not up, we can spawn a pick and he will always uh come up. So, uh we might be lucky and he’s just up, but uh I don’t I don’t know what to expect right now. But, uh, let’s go ahead and do the run. We’ll do the run together and stuff like that. Now, I’m I’ve I’ve been playing a lot and, uh, I think Paladin is probably my my go-to secondary unlock. Uh, I’m I’m torn between my primary right now. It’s either warrior or shadow knight. Uh, but the but the power of a paladin on many levels like leveling e extra characters with a paladin is kind of crazy because you’re getting you’re getting huge hits with undead. Now if I you know you do this quest here uh you know who knows what the hits are going to be cuz it’s a pretty good two-hander right now. I do have the two-hander from sky for paladin because I’ve been trying to unlock paladin but uh it it has like u dismiss summoned on it. So, the idea would be to take like the Smith summon off there and put on Soulfire and uh I think the proc from this weapon, but it’s just hilarious, right? So, let’s go through here and then we’re going to go down through this tunnel here and then take us into Everrost, right? All right. Now, we’re in Everrost. Now, let’s take a look at the uh secure point. Uh depending on the how long that took you to get there. Now, the secure point will put you here. We need to be here. So, it’s probably just easier to run. Plus, there’s a 5minute cool down. So, if it took you less than 5 minutes to run from uh Kino Sil’s uh zone line to uh here, you’re probably going to be on timer anyway, so it is what it is there. Uh but we can run straight through these little things here. There’s nothing of any kind of threat to a level. I’m 46 right now, which is the minimum to go to play this guy. Uh because I I felt like I was running out of time and um the server come the server is going to come down I think Tuesday and it’s Sunday. So uh I don’t have much time left. I’m trying to get this quest done cuz this is one of the one of the quests I wanted to complete during uh during the beta. Uh just to, you know, see what kind of the the factions and stuff like that. What we’re going to have to run into when we uh do this. Now uh faction wasn’t too bad, right? Like I they’ve made every faction hit at least a minimum of five, which I think this like this guy should have a faction hit, right? There we go. No faction. Never mind. Uh but with a minimum of five faction per kill, right? It’s it’s actually pretty nice to uh be able to do some of that. So, uh, you know, it took 2 hours in, uh, in whatever zone it was, uh, Blackboro. Yeah, like I’m still threatening these guys, but 2 hours in Blackboro to get it out of faction, you know, while leveling an alt, right? Like that’s, you know, you’re definitely going to spend the time there anyway, so it’s probably worth it cuz there is like a shrink kili there and there’s some lower level items that are definitely worth uh, you know, coming and grabbing. Now, what we’re going to do is we’re going to actually let’s just use the bard one. Uh let’s get rid of this song and then let’s go into uh Enduring Breath. During breath, am I drunk? I don’t see it. Now, this will give us permanent enduring breath. Now, uh, if it wasn’t so easy to get the fishbone earring, which we do have, uh, we’re actually already wearing it. Never mind. Uh, Tilly, my gear is totally messed up, probably. Uh, you would need that to go into this cave cuz you’re probably going to run out of air by the time you get to the other end. Now, I’m going up tracking. That’s one of the reasons we have a bard. We have We need to just make sure he’s up because if he’s not up, we’re going to have to spawn a pick. So, or an instance. Um, who knows if somebody’s like come out here to camp him or uh, you know, whatever. Right. There we go. Just get a little closer here. But as you can see, if you have low swimming skill, it’s going to, you know, it’s going to be quite a uh arduous journey for you to uh try to get through here uh without drowning. Uh because this is a total this is like all ice. There might be another hole somewhere around here, but I’m not 100% sure. All right, we got ice bone skeletons miracle. All right, there we go. We don’t even have to spawn another instance. Now, where is the hole? All right, we got to get in the hole. There we go. All right, now let’s get my real spells going here cuz this is going to be a uh little bit of a tussle. Do I not have I don’t have one, do I? Oh jeez. [gasps] Uh talk about how panicked I was building this character out. All right, we’re going to do that one and I guess this one. I think I had slow. All right. Now, the way this works is we actually need to charm him. Uh, and typically, you know, you bring like a friend, right? And they charm it. I could have switched to enchanter. Probably would have made it a little easier, too. Uh, but we don’t want to kill this guy, right? We want to charm him first. There he is right there. So, I’m going to click on Do I have over channel? I do have over channel. I’m going to click over channel. I’m going to click my puppet strings. Maybe I can’t I click these puppet strings. Am I lagging? Con him. He’s ready to attack. He should attack us. Um, I don’t have a Come on. Classy sympathetic aura. I don’t know why that button’s not on my bar. There we disabled that. Why can’t I click the uh All right. Well, screw it. I’m I’m bored, right? Um I can just charm him. Let’s get rid of Daring. I was trying to do it the way that you you would normally do it. I don’t know why I can’t collect those right now. Charm. Where’d he go? Is he like immune to charm? You cannot cat. Okay. What? Okay, that just sounds dumb. Like it’s different here. All right, let’s see. Does he talk to us? Hey, I’m not invisible. Let’s just give him the flaccardity and see what the hell happens. There we go. All right, there we go. Now we get this red uh guy here. Let’s turn this back on. And all right, turn it in. This will spawn him. Bring a raid force and we’ll swack him. There we go. >> [laughter] >> Okay, so the walkthrough on the EverQuest Legends wiki is completely wrong. So keep that in mind. Holy crap. Did he just like really beat us that hard? All right. Weird defensive. All right, here we go. So, I have no idea why I could not cast that on there, but uh here we are. So, he is a what? Necromancer, level 53. So, this will be a little bit of a tussle fight here. Uh but we we have stuns memorized. I’m just going to try to look at my spells here. So, we should be able to stun him down right now. I have cleave and smite on auto uh auto attack. Right. So, I’m going to be smiting, which is going to do like 305 damage. I got Earthquake. I just killed this pet. So, we’re good there. Uh, we have Leia hands up. And, uh, well, I took I took Soulfire out of my uh my thing, so I don’t I can’t have my clicky uh soulfire one at the moment. Let me see if I have the other sword on me here. All right, let’s do a heal because this is actually uh a little bit more damage than I was expecting for uh this fight here. Uh let’s see here. Everything else is good to go though. And he’s slow. up. It might have been easier [laughter] to bring the Shadow Knight. There we go. He’s He’s just like going to take a while to kill. Now, we we have like unlimited mana, right? Like I’m not blowing any mana here except a few heals. So, I mean, it’s this class is so strong. And if I totally run out of mana, I can just lay hands. And if I really if I really get desperate, I’ll put my AUG back in my Soulfire. There we go. And um let’s see here. Let’s go into Divine since we we’re good on mana. Uh since I’m chain stunning him, right? I don’t even know if these stuns are even landing on him, right? It doesn’t Yeah, he resisted my stun. So, definitely a fight. So, uh don’t don’t come unprepared for this. Not like it’s not damage wise, but maybe DPS- wise, like I you know, I just I’m rolling in with whatever my warrior was wearing. um from the whatever last video I made, right? I’m not I haven’t optimized anything for this. Kind of nice. You don’t have to charm him. So, that’s uh that’s pretty good. So, I’m guessing parts of Sky is going to be different, too. So, I’m surprised these guys haven’t been dated yet. There we go. Now, when we do sky, we’ll we’ll spawn uh do we want to spawn a lower level instance? I don’t know. Uh we might be able just be able to go straight up there because this I don’t think this guy’s going to be able to like do what I need to do right now cuz he’s only 46 and I I don’t really have a lot of DPS. I have durability right now. So, and ironically, uh, divine is keeping us alive. I think these are landing here. Let’s go into over channel actually. There we go. Now, that’s that’s that’s helping a little bit. I wonder if there is another uh another stun I can put on my thing. Uh holy might. Do we have that? We don’t have holy might. Let’s grab holy might real quick. There we go. Didn’t really set this guy up for uh real combat, right? So, Holy Might is just another stun. I don’t know what the hell just took that much of a chunk of life out of us, but wow. Let’s get some heals on here. Definitely the longest fight of the thing. Now, uh to get those books, uh the first books we got, those are from the the Nagafan and Vox kills. I have not gone and killed those at all uh since I got my first few kills. like it’s it’s like 45 minutes sometimes to just get into get those going. Uh they just changed the box fight, so it’s less mobs, but it’s just a lot of uh it’s a lot of clearing for loot that I’m pretty much going to sell to a vendor. So, uh I didn’t want to redo those. But uh if you’re interested in that, there’s earlier vers videos of me killing it with uh one of my combos um getting the books right now. If you’re if you plan to do this quest multiple times, it might be worth it to kind of cue those up and get them all like start working on your pairs of books and then turning those in and stuff like that so that you’re ready to kind of chain to it. But, uh, this guy here is like the bottleneck, right? So, you’re, you know, you’re pretty much like I think it’s one one a day. Uh, plus if you go into each of the different instances, uh, that I don’t know, maybe he spawns even faster. I don’t know. But, uh, this would be the bottleneck you would you would face on getting this part of the the the thing done, right? All right. So, we got the head. We need that. We need the robe. And we got a goblin necklace. All right. So, we got that. Now, where do we go now? We go to plane in the sky. Perfect. So, let’s go to plane of sky. Now, I have leveled the wizard to 50. Uh, so I can literally pour myself into the planes because that is like the smartest thing to do, right? Like otherwise, you have to run to East Freeport and click uh or, you know, run to Oasis and click. Uh now some of those you still have to go uh sky doesn’t have a voiding but hate you still have to go to Oasis to use the voiding but if you just want to farm armor um you can just pop up and do it that way. So your mileage will vary. Uh but I am extremely lazy. Now let us uh let’s get rid of this one because we’re going to want in viz. Now we need to go to the quest island first. We’re going to try to do this. Yeah, we’ll we’ll try to do this in open world. I [laughter] think I think it’ll work. Um, we’ll see. So, we want to go to the quest room right over here. Oh, we can also get rid of this illusion. Show our true selves here. [snorts] Now, we need to talk to Dassen Goldblade, which is right here. Hail him. And we need to say we don’t need to do anything. We just need to give him five uh 500 uh platinum. But in Acura, I see you wish to speak with him. Why didn’t you say so that earlier? If you wish to speak with him, you must show your generosity. Another tenant of being a knight. generosity 500 platinum will be plenty and then if we went through his whole text here uh let’s see here you got the three parts and then spirit right now you have compassion which is a weapon sacrifice which is a weapon and that’s a weapon and spirit if you wish to further test your purity uh you need to speak to a tree over here okay So, so for this quest, it does give you the text, right? True hero, a follower of the water god, Prexus. He is he he’s one of the most powerful holy knights ever walked Norath. His name is En Akira. Uh he can fill you in in the rest of the quest. Then say that and then little generosity. All right. So, he wants 500 platinum. I can oblige that 500. There we go. pan that over. Now, our little dude has spawned up on the other island. So, we need to invisibility and then we can come right here, click this, and then we’re going to speedrun our way up. Hopefully, we don’t get attacked by anything. All right, looks like somebody already cleared this. Excellent for us. Nothing on this island attacks you. And then he’s over here in the windmill. All right. Oh, shoot. This guy’s up. I have fought for the uh causes of good. I’ve gained the esteem of knights and lords. The sword is the sword I hold is one of the examples of the treasures I have sought and won. I have accomplished all that I can and all that I desire. My toil is done and now I sit among the clouds in peace occasionally blessing those who seek seek it and are found worthy. I seek your blessing. Right. So we’re going to click off in viz. Oh god, I spelled it wrong. That’s literally the word [laughter] say I seek your blessing. All right, click off in viz. Oh, you know what it is? All right. Well, there’s a Pegasus right there. Uh, since it’s a permanent buff, I don’t think it’s actually uh stopping the song here. So, let’s disable that. Let’s do that. And then we’ll just cast it again. Many come seeking my blessing, no matter how minor the blessing they ask. All must prove that they embody the Oh, you son of a I don’t have it. So, this is what this will work, right? So, we’re going to hand him soulfire. That gives us the first blessing, right? And then we’re going to hand him Ghoul Bane. Now we need to give him the first blessing, the second blessing, the robe A, and the robe B. Okay. Um, [laughter] son of a [\h__\h] despawn. All right, let’s uh let’s go respawn him real quick. All right, I respawned him and uh so what what happened was [laughter] is the I was still in viz when I handed it to him. Uh, for some reason it it doesn’t seem to work the well as well as you would really think it would be. Um, so let’s Valor Mar break and viz. Let’s con him. He’s warmly. So now we need to hand this, this, this, and that to him. And there we go. We get the fiery Avenger. Jeez, that was a lot of work. Uh, let’s reinvy avenger uh is a 75 sword, but it comes with a proc, right? Um, what is this one called? Flame shock. It’s 110 damage. Not too bad, right? But it gives you a vigorous bash, which increases your bast bash damage. Um, so it’s pretty cool. So, let’s upgrade this thing real quick and we can put our soulfire. Um uh item in it. There’s the fire plus one. Uh which one are plus two? Minor two. There we go. Got plus two. And then we can grab some plus 3es. Cancel. There we are at plus three. And then I only have 24 + 4. So one, two. There we go. It’s a one uh 1.0 ratio. Now you can see here now I can take out the uh proc. I can take out the worn. And if I hit control K and I go to my AUGs, I can grab my soulfire and I can put that into the click. There we go. And uh now uh this is looking pretty nice. Now let’s see. Do we have majors? We have two fives, which is not enough. We need five fives to get this to plus five. Uh which is fine. There’s a 1.0 ratio is pretty good. So uh let’s take that off there. And let’s take that off there. Let’s grab this. I’m I’m going to kill this uh overseer here or at least attempt to kill it. All right, we’ll put that on there and then uh we should be good there. Like I’m I’m going to have to rechange all my setups since I’m only using one weapon. But uh we stand like right here. Let’s get a nice little screenshotty before I do this. So, we’re going to try to kill this overseer of air with him uh with this. Now, we do have crappy songs memorized. So, we’re going to switch to uh magic. Now, keep in mind like this I I don’t expect to actually win this fight. Uh this is just for like something to add here at the end of the video. Uh but uh uh we can’t pull him with anything near him, right? I think he’s going to be like literal uh like hard mode. So, because it is inside uh D0, right? So, we’re going to tag him in just a moment. I think we can get him right here. Nope. H we got the guy coming with us. Never mind. There we go. So, uh that is the fiery adventure. [laughter] It is um it’s a good sword. Uh I I am going to redo this video when the live version comes out and I will clear the zone so that we can uh talk to him and do that stuff. So expect me to redo that uh this quest. But definitely uh you know definitely fun. It’s a good weapon, right? Like this is this is a pretty solid weapon. Fire Avenger plus 4. I mean 46 44. This thing is going to do some crazy uh crazy stuff. Uh, I’ll probably level up this uh this paladin all the way to 46. Um, I know I’m going to level one in live, so definitely uh it’s fun there. But you can do it as an XR. Uh, uh, just so you know, uh, there’s I have videos on how to get the deep water knight faction. I have videos on how to get all the paladin factions and stuff like that. Now, I did do the agnostic. So, he is agnostic right now. um which uh does modify the factions a little bit more. I did mention that in the video for the f the that but you can see here I’m wormly almost ally. Uh I I am max ally with deep water knights with uh a gnome. So it just depends on what your you know your race combos are and stuff like that. So it’s definitely something to uh think about there. Now, um that’s that. So, uh there we go.
