EverQuest news, patch notes, and commentary on what's happening in Norrath.
The October 21st live update. Parcels finally take multiple items at once with a Shift click, which is a gift if you have twenty character accounts to empty. Alongside it a poison slow tied to trade skills, Magician and Rogue focus fixes, Night of the Dead, and the Extra Life rewards.
The October 13th test server update. Parcels take up to 25 items at once with a Shift click, and a poison slow of 66% at its top rank makes the Rogue look like a real option for group play. Alongside that, Shadow Knight and Magician fixes, Rogue focus changes, a bigger progression server experience bonus, and a pile of crash and interface fixes.
Resource Hunter gets the longest section, but the change that matters most is the Cleric epic 1.0: Shmendrik Lavawalker's respawn comes down and the chain loot locks to whoever did the turn in, which closes the multi-quest that handed the epic to people who had done none of it.
The clarifications that make Lethar a fundamentally different game: every item on the server becomes all/all, epics included, and personal loot pays up to three items per person per kill in a full group.
The July 15th live patch, which is the test server build shipped intact: Heroes' Journey quests go group friendly. Plus an open question about whether their achievements will even exist when Lethar starts.
Lethar gets a date: August 26th at noon Pacific, starting on The Serpent's Spine with personal loot. Plus an expansion teaser about fate and the demiplanes that sounds a lot like Bristlebane.
A patch that looks small and is not. Heroes' Journey quest drops now drop for the whole group instead of one at a time, which fixes the single biggest reason people box those quests.
The Lethar TLP ruleset: starts on The Serpent's Spine, personal loot borrowed from EverQuest Legends, legacy character experience bonuses, no truebox and no item level requirements. Plus one sentence nobody could parse.
The June 17th live patch, shipping the test build intact. Plus the odd timing of selling Terror of Luclin bundles in the same breath as making Laurion's Song free.
Progressive spell lines rebuilt for five classes, mercenaries meaningfully buffed, and Laurion's Song goes free to play. Plus Hardcore Heritage, which puts an Ancient Cloak of Flames back in reach.
The full Frostreaver ruleset on launch day: Velious at the start, daily randomised hot zones, an evolving bonus set that reaches 400% named spawns, encounter locking, and challenge achievements with a level-lowering NPC.
The May 20th live patch plus its hotfix. The standout is an NPC on Vaniki and Frostreaver that lowers your level on request, which retires the practice of building corpse piles to meet challenge requirements.
Hybrid and melee progressive abilities get rebuilt so rank one matches the old rank six, with priests and casters promised for June. Plus a Frostreaver starter pack and a pile of Shattering of Ro raid fixes.
Daybreak announced EverQuest Legends, a new official game built in collaboration with indie studio Game Jawn featuring classic-era zones, multiclassing, and solo-friendly content. Walking through the FAQ, the multiclass system, the launch timeline, and the monetization model that doesn't sit right.
The Frostreaver TLP votes are settled and every aggressive option won: a Scars of Velious launch, eight week unlocks after Planes of Power, Beastlords and Berserkers from day one, and no truebox at all.
